As the title might suggest, there are three strands to these poems. Two Strands are Colin and Jeannine being co authors of each poem and the third Strand is God Himself giving them the inspiration to write for the glory of His holy name.

As I sat and watched the clouds go by
Drifting along the darkened sky
I saw a rainbow form and wondered
Why You had placed it there after it had thundered
Why place a rainbow in the sky so high
Furthur than the eagles dare to fly
Is there a reason for its beauty so fair
This bow of colour in the air
Then I remember a promise made so long ago
And understand why this arc was on show
You promised to never again destroy by water Your creation
Or bring life again to cessation
The rainbow is the sign of the covenant made
The truth of it will never fade
We can see when the dark clouds go by
Your promise written with colour in the sky
Colin and Jeannine
You bring sunshine to my life
You turn my sky to blue
You bring it to my heart
My Friend forever true
Every day is getting better
Than the one that’s gone before
For the sunshine that you bring
Warms me more and more
It reaches the darkest places
Of my mind soul and heart
It is the sunshine of your love
That shines on every part
Someday we will meet my Lord
In a gathering in the air
But until that time comes
I have your sunshine to share
Colin and Jeannine
11 April 2009
One day I peeled an orange
Oh boy what a challenge
The skin it was so thick
It began to look comic
I tore at it with my nails
The lack of which I began to bewail
Because I lost them one by one
But I will finish what I've begun
I attacked the skin with a knife instead
Finding it easier to forge ahead
Until I had that orange peeled
And the succulent fruit was revealed
I sank my teeth and the juice it flew
I tried to avoid the pits but swallowed two
Another got bit and a tooth got loose
Oh why, oh why didn't I make orange juice
I think God works hard at me
To peel away the skin of self and free
The fruit of His spirit, He must let loose
So I can share with others its refreshing juice
Colin and Jeannine
Can I say “I love you”
Do you ever get depressed Jeannine
When people pull you down
When you do your best for Him
Just to wear a golden crown
That He will give someday
When mortal life is by
Do you think it worthwhile?
When all we do is cry
We walk the narrow way
The best way that we can
But happiness in our lives
Never fits the plan
When we bow our heads in sorrow
And come to Him in prayer
Do you ever wonder Jeannine?
Is He really listening there?
I’ll tell you what I think
And wonder if you’ll agree
That though the way is hard
And painful for you and me
It is best to serve Him
And give Him all our love
For the tears and pains of this life
Will be forgotten up above
Just tell me what you think Jeannine
For you are my sister dear
For sometimes my eyes of faith
Cannot see too clear
Yes Colin I do get depressed
And I know that you do too
People still pull us down though
Knowing all that we have been through
And though we walk the narrow way
Giving Him our love and our best
Though we bow our heads in sorrow
Still by Him we are blest
I know sometimes it seems
That He isn't really listening
As we come to Him in prayer
Tears on our cheeks wetly glistening
But Colin my dear brother
Someday we will go home
No more tears and pains of this life
No more feeling down or alone
For He walks so closely with us
Sometimes closer than we know
He carries us when things get hard
Helping us in Him to grow
And though our eyes of faith
At times can't see too clearly
He is truly in our hearts
Because we love Him so dearly
